EARN!
One friend adviced me this when I asked him how I could be like him. He use to be obese like me before. Today he has lost some weight but still in the overweight zone. His BMI has dropped from 33 to 27 today and I envied him for a determination he puts. At least he has dropped weight while mine .......... you know what.........
I just couldn't get it when he said EARN. I taught the body weight that I presently had today because I earn it. You know, eat a lot and I earn the fat. Though he said that could be true, he gave the meaning of this EARN.
E = Exercise
A = Attitude
R = Rest
N = Nutrition
That the reason he could lost weight. He said that if he just eat less, the result won't be like he is today. He said it must come with a package that encompass of physical, emotion, and desire. These are the pillars for success. These are the words that enable him cuts the weight. If one pillar cripple, he said, it wont work. All the endeavour useless.
The reason are simple. When I think of it, its have logical reasons. I dont know about you but I found it fascinating. These what he have said.
1. If we dont exercise, instead we just eat, we might accumulating fats ......... In pysics, in equalibrium, IN = OUT. Even so we exercise and the amout of exercise is in equalibrium with the food we eat, we only maintain the body weight. Nothing is achieved. To loose weight, the OUT must greater than IN.
2. If we don't have right mental attitude, we would do the exercise half heartedly and the spirits ceases as time goes by. True enough ....... can't argue more. Often time we heard some people get really excited when they want to start exercise. They use PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) in achieving their goals and only to find they stop halfway. True my reading, 1 gram of fats require 9kcal to burn. If you play tennis for 1hour, you use 300kcal, if you play football you require approximately 350kcal (result for non professional sportsman). Through these exercise we only burn 38 grams of fats. This is small. However, if we constant in doing exercise and eat smart (takes 1500 to 1900kcal a day) we will be ablle to see the result in amonth times. Lets calculate this. Normal person like me require 2200kcal per day. If I can eat smart a day and consume 1800kcal a day, I have lost 400kcal through diet only. In a month I could lost 12000kcal that is equivalent to 1333 grams of fats (1.33kg). If we do brisk walking or playing tennis or football on average we consume 200kcal (lets not be too optimistic). In a month we consume 6000kcal that is equivalent to 666 grams of fats. If we add up eating smart and exercise we could cut our weight by almost 2000grams. Isn't that amazing. So the point is hati kena cekal and that is our attitude.
3. If we dont have enough and sound rest, we get fatigue and consequently stop the exercise. From my reading and understanding, we must have enough rest or probably I might say we must have very good sleep. Our body need a rest. Our muscle need a rest so that the cells could repair themselves . The next day when we wake up we will find ourselves rejuvenate. Really fresh and looking forward to do the work and exercise again!.
4. If we dont bother with the nutrition, we miss the direction and end up doing exercise with no result to meet. Often time we eat like there's no tomorrow. Macam org selalu cakap, MAKAN SELAGI BOLEH MAKAN. Is that true? Let me see ....... If I eat more than I needed in a day, I would be hospitalised by the time I am 40, I reckon. Diabetes, High Cholestrol, High BP and worse cardio problems .............ahhhhhh stop it. I like the idea from Anthony Robbins (Unlimited Power). The art of eating a lot is eating less. So that you can still enjoy your food when you 50 or more. I feel this sound more logical. I dont know about you but I am certainly agree with Anthony Robbins. Nevertheless the whole idea for having a good nutrition is to have a good food balance. We must understand the foods pyramid in order to stay healthy.
So that's all about EARN.
For the record I weight 92kg and in my subconciuos mind I want to loose weight to 90kg by the end of month.

meh aku nak cakap ni..
aku tengah dlm proses menguruskan badan ni.. nak kasi mampat mana2 yg tak mampat (buruk nau nak kata 'mengelebeh'.. eewww..!!!), nak kasi tegang mana2 yg tak tegang, nak kasi kurang mana2 yg terlebih!!
last weekend, dah pulun sikit dah.. main badminton 3 jam! tapi bukan aku sorang le.. aku main beround-round, so tebakar le gak lemak aku tu. before that, on saturday swim (rasa macam nak pecah paru2 aku yg tak smoke ni!). then semalam gi tasik titiwangsa layan anak buah aku (tapi makan aiskrim lepas tu.. boleh?? uwaaa!!).
hari ni, dan hari2 seterusnya, weather permits, aku nak power walk lepas balik keje..
tapi makan kena jaga gak. tak jaga kalu, hancus gak.
it's all in the head, setahu aku le. aku ni setakat lose-weight-gain-weight dah biasa dah. it's hard to gain the momentum, but once you have it, it's easy to keep on going.

Celen jgn tak celen. Bulan nih taget turun 2 kilo. Ko nak turun berapa kilo?
alamak.. 2 kilo eh? banyak tu weh untuk aku!! 1 kilo ok tak? ok kot sebab aku tak seberat kau. kalau aku ikut kau turun 2 kilo 2 kilo sebulan, by the time aku dah turun 10 kilo, aku dah rupa macam orang kena AIDS.. tak nak le aku! aku nak kurus dah menawan, bukan kurus tak keruan..
aku pernah diet (masatu aku gemuk slps pregnant - alasan org pompuan kan)bagai nak rak. aku amik nasi during weekends only..itupun dlm 2-3 spoon. weekdays aku minum low fat milk + wheatbread, fruits & plain water. Dlm 2 minggu aku lost almost 3kg....tapi tu ler 1 1/2 months je bertahan...Aku ni melayu tulin, mana larat tak makan nasik lama. Pastu berat aku turun naik ikut mood diet aku.Tapi badan aku mmg senang naik..tu yg susah tu.
Anyway, all the best..semoga tercapai apa yg dihajatkan.
budak..yang bab nutrition tu ko kena makan b' young...baru boleh tahan sikit...satu lagi aku nasihatkan kalau ada madu cuba amalkan setiap pagi..InsyaAllah berkesan
(aduh!!! harus dorang kata aku pengecut kalau tak take the challenge!)
things that work on me, i reduced almost 13kgs in 4 years.. slow but alhamdulillah.. maintain lagi
- less sugar
- less nasi (ni semangat kena sgt2 kuat)
- more sayur2 n buah2
- no carbonated drinks at all
- susu manis dikurangkan
- exercise! jalan2..lari2.. main kejar2 ngan kanak2 pun boleh aje..
yg utama... semangat kena kuat!
