Tution or not tuition
Couples of days ago, KnK aka Khairil and Kiran on their famous Pagi Di Era made a topic of whether or not it is best to send your kid for tuition on this long school holidays.
Very interesting subject and responded very well from the listener. I do not want to make comment on others opinion as I focused on child development of my own kids.
Last night I send my Kid for tuition. It cost me RM 240.00 for this one month. I am sure its worth the money.
The reason are as follows:
1. My kid was a prefect and often time prefect always got out of the class 5 minutes earlier then the rest. The problem is teacher usually gave exercise at the last minute they teach the kids in class. Therefore he missed a lot of exercises and information on subject been taught in class.
2. Tough my kids still maintain A's in his core subject, his position has dropped from number 5 to 10. I can say that I didn't have ample time to teach him during Ramadhan. We both go for Taraweh. I wish this is not the reason my my kid has dropped places. I am prone to believe that he has missed a lot of his time during schooling.
3. This would probably the main reason why he has dropped places in class. He plays when studying and when at home he always poking his nose to the computer monitor's. He likes to play SIM City. Many times we scolded him. Well..............kid will always be kid........Ayahnya pun sama suka main Championship Manager
4. I do not know about others. Many says we shall give our kids a break. Its true but with the competition is high, his dream is at stake if he cannot cope with the tense situation. I hope giving him time to study more will open his eyes that this world does not wait you to understand a lot of thing. Give him the knowledge so that he prepares to face the world. Let him know that.
5. Every endeavor will comes with rewards. Have you heard a phrase from Napolean Hill - Effort only releases its reward after a person refuses to quit. This is the phrase I want to sink to my kid minds. If he study more, never quit, the result shows and you'll be rewarded and you never know what rewards await you that time.
So I reckon, it will be benificial if I send my kid for tuition. At least he understand that we are serious about education. We live in the knowledge-base era where people explore the world and universe with intelligence.
